Distal phalanx intraosseous epidermoid inclusioncyst: A rare thing!

چکیده
Pathological structures called epidermoid bone inclusion cysts are surrounded by a layer of stratified squamous epithelium that contains keratin debris. They go the name epidermal as well. Intraosseous uncommon lesions can develop result trauma (puncture wound or pressure erosion). typically affect toes, phalanges, and head. The distal phalanx fingers is where phalangeal involvement most frequently occurs. Despite fact cause intraosseous still unknown, majority patients do recall prior traumatic event, supporting post-traumatic origin theory. Following digital surgery, it hypothesised surface epithelial cells pushed into underlying osseous compartment. initiating symptoms may start to appear months years later. It challenging distinguish on radiographs from other radiolucent lesions, necessitating tissue diagnosis. We present case 45-year-old man with right middle finger edoema for five known history minor blunt trauma. A well-defined expansile hypodense lytic lesion eccentric erosion was discovered during radiological analysis. creamy substance found inside after later determined histology be an cyst. Gross examination surgical specimen indicated cystic significant necrotic regions pale, material. burst cyst upon microscopic inspection effectively removed.

Intraosseous epidermoid cyst of the finger phalanx: a case report.
Epidermoid cysts of the finger phalanx are rare pseudotumours. They are benign lesions with a satisfactory outcome after excision. We describe a case of an epidermoid cyst in the distal phalanx of the ring finger. It was treated successfully and the patient had excellent functional results and radiological healing at one-year follow-up.
متن کاملLetter to the editor: Digital intraosseous epidermoid inclusion cyst of the distal phalanx.
Epidermoid inclusion cysts (EIC) of the bone are exceedingly rare. We present a case of an atypical EIC originating at the base of the distal phalanx of the index finger following a remote history of crush injury to the finger. The differential diagnosis of expansile, lytic lesions of the phalanges remains broad, and definitive diagnosis requires tissue histopathological analysis. At latest fol...
متن کاملPhalangeal intraosseous epidermoid cyst.
The authors describe two cases of phalangeal intraosseous epidermoid cyst. Two theories try to explain their origin. One theory sees traumatic implantation of epidermal cells as causative. A second theory is based on faulty embryogenesis.
متن کاملosteoid osteoma of distal phalanx: a rare disorder and review of literature
osteoid osteomata are rarely found in the distal phalanges of the hand. the usual presenting features are chronic pain, nail enlargement and increase in size of the terminal part of the digit. diagnosis is difficult but surgical excision is effective for treating the patients’pain. we reported this tumor in distal phalanx of the middle finger.
متن کاملChondroblastoma of the distal phalanx.
Chondroblastoma is a rare, benign primary bone tumor that usually occurs at the epiphysis of long bones. The authors present an example of the diagnosis and successful treatment of this neoplasm in an exceedingly rare location in the distal phalanx. Clinical and radiographic outcomes after 68 months of follow-up are presented. A 15-year-old, right hand-dominant, boy developed painful swelling o...
